The following is an update on our mission work in Liberia, and was submitted by Rev. Tim Worrell
The school year started in Liberia on September 12th. Below is a picture of the six orphans that members of our churches sponsor at Mother Keebah Academy. Their names are Jackson Sokan, Milton Jones, Mark Kosso, Martee Morris, Solomon Bayee, and Princess Bayee.
All six are housed by members of Rock Springs Evangelical Presbyterian Reformed Church in the Battery Factory area of Monrovia. All of the children are also taught Bible by their Pastor Sabato Kehdon at Mother Keebah Academy. Here is a picture of one of Pastor Kehdon’s Bible classes.
The Presbytery also established Westminster Theological Academy which began its school year on September 17th. Thirty-eight men gathered for the first of eight sessions on the Westminster Confession of Faith. The men meet on a monthly basis. When they gather they listen to six 45 minutes lectures via MP3 and then call Pastor Worrell to discuss the material for about an hour. All the men have been given A.A. Hodge on the Westminster Confession. The men are expected to read all of the chapters of the Confession and Hodge that will be covered in the monthly session, as well as answering approximately twenty-five questions. Here is a picture from the first meeting on the 17th.
